GENESIS OF WORLD QUALITY DAY

To raise international awareness of the important role quality plays in ensuring nations’ prosperity, the United Nations established World Quality Day in 1989. It is now observed annually on the second Thursday of November and World Quality Week is recognized in the second week of November. Quality Management Associations world-wide celebrate World Quality Day in independent or networked events. World Quality Day is also spearheaded by the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) based in the United Kingdom which is the only chartered professional body dedicated entirely to quality.

The purpose of World Quality Day is to promote awareness of quality around the world and to encourage development and prosperity of individuals and organisations.
