ANAB has implemented a combined IAF MLA mark and ANAB accreditation symbol that is to be used in conjunction with an ANAB accredited program for which ANAB is signatory of the IAF MLA (i.e. QMS, EMS, FSMS, ISMS, MDMS)
ANAB’s accreditation of bodies operating certification of management systems is limited to "areas of economic activity" for which a certification body (CB) has provided evidence of qualification in keeping with ANAB’s procedures.
These areas are referred to as "scopes of accreditation" or "accreditation scope categories." This sub-grouping of the major categories facilitates the limitation of approval to portions of an accreditation scope category when warranted because of limited qualification evidence provided by the CB, by ANAB’s evaluation of the submitted evidence, or by ANAB’s experience with the witnessing of CB audits.
International Accreditation Forum (IAF)
The International Accreditation Forum (IAF), an organization of accreditation bodies, has a system to classify the scope of economic activity. What does this mean? This classification of specific industries ensures that the NCBJ has the right scope to match your organization’s need as we assign qualified auditors, with the relevant experience in your industry. We ensure that our clients receive the right ‘care’ needed to take them through to the next level that is international certification.
Third party management systems certification is a specified global requirement that is needed to operate in the international markets. It demonstrates compliance to a standard, a code of practice or regulatory requirement.
Accreditation reduces risk for business and its customers by assuring that accredited Conformity Assessment Bodies are competent to carry out the work they undertake within their scope of accreditation. It allows for an independent evaluation of certification bodies (CB) against recognized standards in order to ensure that the CBs are impartial, competent and consistent in the issuance of certification to their clients. It is important that certified organizations understand expected outcomes for accredited certification and get the best value out of their third-party audits.
